Day 2: Sacred Valley

Visit the Living City of the Incas – Concentric Terraces and the Salt Mines – Uncovering More Treasures of Cusco

Today, after breakfast drive along the Sacred Valley and head to the Incan town of Ollantaytambo, walk around to appreciate old stone houses and street water canals. Then, ascend the hillside terraces and explore the impressive fortress, during the Inca period this place served as an agricultural, religious and military center, being also the main entrance to the undiscovered forest – another remarkable example of the architectural Treasures of Cusco. Eat lunch locally based in traditional ingredients of Ollantaytambo and the sacred valley. Furthermore, visit the Inca terraces of Moray, the nearby colonial town and the ancient salt pans of Maras which are still harvested in a traditional way, revealing the diverse Treasures of Cusco that span from ancient engineering to living traditions. Following the tour, you will be returned to the hotel.

Day 3: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu

Be ready for the most exciting day! You will begin this great experience aboard the train of your choice in direction to Machupicchu town, please have a look outside through the windows to the astonishing scenarios, after some time, you will be immerse into a canyon surrounded by the cloud forest and stunning granite mountains. Before going to the ancient citadel get lunch in the town. Afterwards, explore with your knowledgeable guide the Lost City of the Incas as you walk through temples, fountains, terraces and get connected by the spiritual energy of the place – experiencing the most famous of all Treasures of Cusco. At the end of the exploration make your way back to the hotel. We are going to book accommodations for one night.

Day 4: Machupicchu – Cusco

Adventurous Spirit in Machupicchu – More Perspectives on Treasures of Cusco

Today, explore the citadel in another way, climb up to Huayna Picchu or Machupicchu mountain, both sites offer outstanding and fabulous views, it takes around 3 hours walking back and forth, please note that tickets to hike up will need to be purchased in advance. After your excursion, you will partake of a delicious lunch and later take the train to go back to Ollantaytambo and be transferred to your hotel in Cusco, carrying with you unforgettable memories of these magnificent Treasures of Cusco.

Day 5: Cusco

Immerse Yourself in the Andean Culture – Kayak or Paddle – Experiencing Living Treasures of Cusco

The great journey will continue crossing the lovely fields heading to the beautiful and solitary lagoon of Piuray, explore the place in a sea kayak, paddle board or even try the outrigger canoe, no experience is required. You will start with a full instruction before practicing your new skills. Once you are navigating enjoy the peaceful and stunning Andean scenery, keep an eye out for local birds, local farmers and snow-capped peaks – discovering the natural Treasures of Cusco.

After a couple of hours being on the water return to dry land and enjoy a tasty lunch in the outdoors.

During the afternoon visit Chinchero town to learn how weavers turn alpaca and sheep wool into beautiful fine textiles.
