ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Welcome to Lima.

Upon your arrival at Lima’s international airport, you will be assisted and then transferred to the exclusive and residential area of the Miraflores district where you can rest and relax after a long trip.

Day 2: Lima

Discover the City of Kings. Dinner at the Best Restaurant in Lima.

After breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up at the designated time for the City of Kings tour. We will proceed to Pueblo Libre to visit the Larco Museum. The Larco Museum is an 18th-century viceregal mansion that offers a fascinating array of pre-Columbian art that represents approximately 5,000 years of Peruvian history. Afterwards, we will enjoy our lunch on one of the terraces in the museum’s gardens.

We return to downtown Lima to enjoy some panoramic views of its colonial monuments, including the Main Square, Government Palace, Archbishop’s Palace, and Cathedral. After this, we walk to the Convent of San Francisco, one of the most important religious and cultural centers. The convent is doma to the catacombs that served as a cemetery during colonial times. After this activity, we will enjoy a walk through Larcomar, the center of the Miraflores district.

At the end of your tour, you will take you to a restaurant of your choice. We suggest Central (ranked 4th) and Maido (ranked 7th), restaurants listed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021. It is a good idea to reserve a table 1 to 2 months in advance, as it fills up quickly.

Day 3: Lima

Culinary Experience.

We begin each excursion in the morning in the morning with the special and sensory experience of visiting a typical market. In the market we will observe a wide variety of Peruvian products including tubers, some Andean grains (such as quinoa and amaranth). You will be impressed by the seafood which is considered to be among the most delicious in the world, as well as its multitude of exotic fruits including golden berries, lucuma, custard apple, and others.

Then we will learn to prepare the signature drink of Peru, the famous Pisco Sour, along with the delicious Ceviche. We will enjoy a delicious lunch with the most representative dishes of Peruvian cuisine. At the end of our unique experience, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 4: Lima - Cusco

Flight to Cusco. Transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Have Lunch at an Ancient Hacienda.

At the arranged time, you’ll be taken to the Lima airport to board your flight to the Imperial City of Cusco, where staff will assist you as you continue your adventure to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will stop to observe South American camelids, like llama, alpaca, and vicuña to feed them. Then we will continue to the colorful town of Pisaq, visiting the handicrafts market and learning about the high-quality work they do in silver. If you are up for something traditional, we will stop by the wood-burning ovens to taste delicious empanadas.

Then we will enjoy lunch at an old hacienda, which is known for producing the giant white corn for export from the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and has held onto customs and traditions for three generations related to corn cultivation. Then the owners will greet us in the courtyard of the Hacienda and show us the origin of this variety of corn, and the cultivation methods used from ancient times until today.Let yourself be amazed by the local culinary flavors being served in the gardens, while surrounded by the mountains, and with a show of Caballo de Paso (Paso horse). Finish this day settling into our hotel.

Day 5: Sacred Valley

Discover Maras – Moray. Enjoy Lunch in an Organic Farm. Visit the Distillery.

We will continue our journey across the Sacred Valley. On this day, we will visit the salt mines of Maras, which were millennium salt mines. Its ponds filled with salt water from the subsoil, and finally got salt crystals pe evaporation. Then we will visit Moray, which is a natural depression with a funnel shape, and there the Incas built concentric terraces and due to the position of different platforms, different microclimates were created. it was where Incas made cultivation experiments at different heights it became an agricultural laboratory for its time, very advanced.

Following this stop, we will head to eat lunch in a country house surrounded by amazing mountains and green fields all the way around. The ingredients they use, come from an organic bio-garden that they have, which gives it a unique taste experience.

Finish your day at the Distillry, here you can make your own elixir of medicinal plants, and taste distillates, made on an Inca anden (Incan platform) at 2800m (9186ft). Finally, we will return to our Hotel in the Sacred Valley to rest and recharge energy for a new day.

Day 6: Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes Town - Machupicchu

Take the Tourist Train of your Choice. Explore the Lost City of the Incas.

From Ollantaytambo station, take a 1 hour 40 minute train journey to Aguas Calientes. The train has panoramic windows that will enhance the views of the scenery. When we arrive in Aguas Calientes, you can regain your strength by having an early lunch to then ascend to the Machupicchu Citadel.

In the afternoon we will finish our tour by taking the bus to Machupicchu, one of the 7 wonders of the Modern World and breathtaking example of Inca engineering and Inca architectural wonder that has andenes (terraces), ceremonial centers, roads, canals and other architectural artifacts that prove to be one of the most incredible human creations of the planet, whose cultural legacy is inherited from an extinct civilization and typical ecosystems of the tropical rainforest with extraordinary natural beauty and extraordinary aesthetic. After visiting this enchanting place we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in the hotel of your choice.

Day 7: Machupicchu - Cusco

Machupicchu with Optional Hikes. Train Back to Cusco.

On this day, you will return with your tour guide to Machupicchu for optional hikes to Huaynapicchu Mountain or Machupicchu Mountain, which has breathtaking views. Please note that in order to climb these mountains, you must book your entrance tickets in advance.

After your visit, you will return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes to board your train back to Ollantaytambo train station and then you will be transferred to Cusco city.

Day 8: Cusco

Stand Up Paddle or Kayak in the Piuray Lagoon. Awaken your Senses with the Tasty Pachamanca.

On this day, we will head to Chinchero where the Piuray Lagoon is located and at the same time surrounded by an unmatched beauty. The Piuray Lagoon is the ideal setting for water activities with or without experience. You will have a brief orientation on safety and paddling techniques on land. Once in the water, we will become familiar with the board to practice in a safe and relaxed way.

It is time to activate our senses of taste and smell through our millenary dish, the Pachamanca. This dish is based on the cooking of Andean products with the help of hot stones. You will be invited to participate burying the food with the community chef, and then blessing the food following the Andean tradition. After tasting this traditional Andean dish, we return to Cusco.

Day 9: Cusco

Cusco and Outskirts. Visit to a Picantería (Traditional Restaurant).

Today we’ll explore the Incan Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We start at Sacsayhuaman, a remarkable site composed of huge regally arranged stone blocks, situated on the outskirts of the city. We head back to the city to stroll through the historical streets, including the neighbourhood of San Blas – the neighbourhood of artisans, and discover its narrow and steep streets. We will take a photo with the famous stone of 12 angles. Walk through the Main Plaza and enter the Cathedral of Cusco, where beautiful pieces of colonial goldsmithery are preserved as is a remarkable collection of Cusco School paintings. We continue our walk to the San Pedro Market, which is an old supply market in the city of Cusco.

After we have visited the most remarkable sites of the city we will enjoy lunch in a Picantería, a local restaurant with typical regional food, where stews with meat, chicken, fish or vegetables predominate, and a chicha de jora will definitely not be absent from our table, the sacred drink of the Incas.

Day 10: Cusco - International Flight

Flight Cusco – Lima. Flight Home Via Lima.

At the scheduled time you will be escorted from your hotel to the airport in Cusco to board your departure flight.
