ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Welcome to Lima

When you arrive to Peru, at Lima’s International airport you will be welcomed and assisted by Belcheri Travel host, be transferred to your hotel located in the exclusive area of Miraflores district. Feel free to relax and wander around at your own pace, we have plenty of suggestion for you so you can know a little more about the beautiful capital.

Day 2: Lima

Visit the City of Lima, Combining History and Entertainment

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start our tour in Lima known as the City of Kings. We will head to Pueblo Libre to visit Larco museum, a colonial house from eighteenth century which exhibits a fascinating collection of Pre-Columbian art.

Historical Center & Magic Water Circuit

Then, we go to the center area of Lima where we will visit the Monastery of San Francisco, one of the most important religious and cultural places, known for its Catacombs that served as a cemetery in colonial time. Along our tour, we will have a panoramic view of the colonial monuments, highlighting, the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral and others. Next, we will stroll through Larcomar, the heart of the Miraflores district.

At night, we will visit the Magic Water Circuit, this park was created in honor of the soldiers who defended the city of Lima during the Pacific War, also, its European style is combined with technology where music, sound and lights present incredible shows. Dare to get wet in one of the water fountains! Return to the hotel.

Day 3: Lima - Puerto Maldonado

Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Embark on Boat to the Rainforest

We will pick you up from your hotel to go to the airport and take the domestic flight to Puerto Maldonado. After the plane lands, the journey begins with a 45-minute boat ride to the lodge of your choice, the staff will welcome you and give you the necessary information you will need during your stay, then please settle into your cabin and enjoy the property.

Rainforest Introduction

After lunch entertain yourself into the rainforest with a hike along the trail system of the lodge surrounded by impressive, giant trees and lush vegetation. It is said that jungle wakes up when sunset begins because lots of species of animals got adapted to the shadows such as: owls, capybaras, nightjars and even caimans hidden in the river banks, you will get a fantastic interpretation of it. Enjoy dinner and rest for your next day’s adventure.

Day 4: Tambopata

Thrilling Activities in the Jungle

This morning, embark a wooden canoe and paddle through the Sandoval Lake, a shimmering mirror of water inhabited by several species of animals, there is a big opportunity to see birds, howler monkeys, turtles, caimans, giant otters (endangered).

Canopy Walkway & Wildlife

After navigating through its waters, we return to our lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, climb the Canopy Walkway, with a height of 344 meters (1,135 feet), with a panoramic view of the Amazon rainforest from the top of the trees. As we descend, we continue with a 30-minute walk through the trail to be able to see more species of animals. Time for dinner and relax in our lodge.

Day 5: Tambopata

Discover the Mysteries of the Amazon

Today be wake up by the sound of the Amazon, have breakfast and then we go by boat to Chacra Gamitana to see and taste exotic and seasonal fruits grown by local farmers.

Wildlife & Nocturnal Adventure

Then take a walk through a trail that will take us to a creek inhabited by turtles, caimans, piranhas and more colorful birds. We return to our lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon we will navigate to Hacienda Concepcion where in old times was the most important area to produce cocoa and extract rubber. Today it has more than 200 different species of plants and we will learn about their benefits. At night, walk through the trails of the lodge to perceive the movements and sounds of nocturnal animals that appear under the moonlight.

Day 6: Puerto Maldonado - Cusco - Sacred Valley

Flight to Cusco. Transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Enjoy your last day surrounded by nature, at the coordinated time, embark the boat to leave the lodge and go to the airport of Puerto Maldonado to take your domestic flight to Cusco.

Camelid Encounter

Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be transferred by your private guide to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. En route, we will make a stop to observe the South American camelids, learn to recognize them and interact with these animals. Enjoy the picturesque panorama along the route before you arrive to the hotel.

Day 7: Sacred Valley

Visit Ancestral Communities in Pisaq – Explore the Ruins and its Picturesque Village

In the morning, we go to one of the Andean communities of Pisaq, we will interact with the local people who will teach us about the Andean beliefs and the relationship with the earth, learn about agriculture, the ancestral tools they use for sowing and harvesting their products, observe the varieties of potatoes they cultivate.

Community Immersion & Archaeological Site

On the other hand, let yourself be captivated by the iconography, colors and the types of textiles. We will enjoy a delicious Andean lunch made with organic products that these people cultivate in their agricultural fields.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Archaeological Park of Pisaq, construction made by the Incas, dating from the fifteenth century, divided into several sectors. We continue our tour to the town of Pisaq known for the silver work done by its inhabitants, we return to our hotel, time to rest and relax.

Day 8: Sacred Valley

Wheel Maras and Moray

After breakfast, we take our private vehicle to head to Chinchero plateau, place where our biking tour will start. Before the activity we get a short briefing, then time to rock and roll.

Biking Adventure

The gentle hilly road takes us to typical Andean villages, passing by beautiful crops with a contrast of the snow- capped mountains of the Urubamba mountain range. We arrive to Moray, a natural depression that Incas used to build concentric terraces creating different microclimates, they carried out cultivation experiments at different elevations.

Maras Salt Mines

After our lunch, we hop again on the bike to Salineras of Maras, ancient salt mines, its pools are filled with salty water that comes from a natural spring creating salt crystals by evaporation. From this point we get the private vehicle to go to our Hotel located in the Sacred Valley.

Day 9: Sacred Valley

Highlight your Skills as an Artist – Visit Ollantaytambo, the Living Inca City

Visit Ollantaytambo known as the living city of the Incas, typical example of urban planning that maintains its original layout since ancient times.

Clay Workshop Experience

Walk through its cobblestone streets, visit the archaeological site, climb to the highest part to have an impressive view of the town. After lunch, have a master class of clay work and learn how to use this material, then paint your own piece of art and take it with you as souvenir.

Day 10: Sacred Valley - Machupicchu

Immerse Yourself in the Cloud Forest. Visit the Lost City of the Incas

Be ready for this memorable experience! Board the train of your choice and be witness of the incredible scenery through the panoramic windows of the train, we dive into a canyon that takes us into the cloud forest and granite mountains.

Machu Picchu Exploration

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, have an early lunch, then ascend to Machupicchu one of the 7 wonders of the modern world, considered a masterpiece of Inca engineering and architecture. Not only does it contribute to the cultural legacy, but it also has a natural beauty. With your private guide you will dive into the history that surrounds this magical place, walking through its terraces, squares and temples.

Day 11: Machupicchu - Cusco

Free Morning in the Town of Aguas Calientes. Train Back to Cusco

Today, we have the morning free to rest, take a short walk around the village or visit the Butterfly Garden. Your guide will give you the options a day before.

Return Journey

In the afternoon, we board the train back to Ollantaytambo station and transfer to our hotel In Cusco city.

Day 12: Cusco

Stand Up Paddle or Kayak in Piuray Lake

Today, we head to Chinchero where Piuray is located, after one-hour drive through colorful valleys, we reach the shores of Lake Piuray surrounded by stunning mountains.

Water Activities & Archery

This spot is the great scenario to have fun in calm waters in high Andes and enjoy the serenity of the environment. Get a safety talk and instruction and time to paddle or kayak. After the great ride it is time to engage our senses of taste and smell with a tasty lunch. If there is some more energy test your strength and aim to do archery which requires precision. Then time to go to Cusco back city where our hotel is located.

Day 13: Cusco

Explore the Navel of the World, Cusco. Prepare your own Chocoteja

The city of Cusco was the capital of the Tahuantinsuyo Empire where the Inca elite lived, it is a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO.

City Tour Highlights

We start our tour in Sacsayhuaman, a construction made with giant blocks of stone prodigiously united. Visit the charming neighborhood of San Blas, known as the district of artisans, characterized by its narrow streets. On the way, you will see the famous stone of 12 angles which belongs to an old incan – palace. Stroll through the Plaza de Armas and stop at the Cathedral of Cusco, which preserves the best expressions of colonial gold work and a precious collection of canvases of the Cusco School of Art. Explore the most important Inca temple from the 15th century, built in honor to the Sun God, “Qoricancha” and mingle with locals in the emblematic San Pedro Market, where you can see, taste and learn about Peruvian cuisine.

Chocolate Workshop

In the afternoon, learn about the cacao variety called chuncho that grows in southern area of Peru, used for the manufacture of different kinds of chocolate. Our chocolate workshop will be really fun, it begins with the selection of the beans, grinding them, melting the chocolate, placing them in molds, wrapping them and taking home a product made by our hands.

Day 14: Cusco - International Flight

Flight Cusco – Lima – Home

It’s time to say “Tupananchiskama! According to the Andean culture there is no such word as “Farewell”, instead we use this quechua expression, which means “until we meet again”.

At the coordinated time you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to board your departure flight.
