ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival to Cusco - Sacred Valley

Welcome to Cusco – Learn about the Inca Culture in Pisaq

The beginning of a new great experience in the magical Andes will start meeting your private travel guide at the Airport of Cusco city. After getting a warmly welcome, you will be taken to the well know Sacred Valley of the Incas and on the way you will discover how beautiful is the longest mountain range of the planet, picturesque panorama with various scenarios, craggy mountains, lush green and yellow hills, flowering meadows, gorgeous flora and fauna.

Visit Pisaq Archaeological Site

Visit, Pisaq, an archeological site where you will have an introduction about Inka culture and the complexity of their living system. Pisaq is one the most interesting and beautiful remains that is well preserved nowadays. Once you finish your visit, return to the town of Pisaq, walk through its narrow streets and see its artisanal market.

Day 2: Sacred Valley

Water Activities in Piuray Lake – Visit Moray

Today you will cross the open fields of the Sacred Valley heading to the beautiful and solitary lagoon of Piuray.

Water Sports Adventure

Explore the area doing stand-up paddle or kayak, experience is not required due its tranquil aquamarine waters. You will be surrounded by few Andean communities; they still preserve their traditions. Return to the shore and have a tasty lunch based in local products.

Moray Archaeological Site

Visit Moray archeological site that’s served as a farming laboratory having variations of temperature in each terrace, it helped to provide different growing environments in a small area.

Day 3: Sacred Valley

Learn About the Traditions of the Patacancha Community. Hike to Pumamarca.

Patacancha Community Experience

Be prepare because today we visit Patacancha, an Andean community located in the highlands of the Sacred valley, here we will meet the Family of Juan, thus is going to be an essential experience rich in ancient traditions. They still wear their traditional garb and have not changed their customs during the last 400 years. Furthermore, they keep and practice ancestral knowledge.

Pumamarca Hike

After having lunch in Patacancha venture up to the remains of Pumamarca, this is an inca trail which local people are still using it, walk 3.5 miles in a moderate descent through ancient aqueducts, above impressive terraces and admire the scenario of the rugged geography. We will reach Ollantaytambo town where our vehicle will be waiting for us.

Day 4: Sacred Valley – Machupicchu

Get Lost in the Beauty of Machupicchu

Be ready for the most exciting day! You will begin this great experience aboard the train of your choice in direction to Machupicchu town, please have a look outside through the windows to the astonishing scenarios, after some time, you will be immerse into a canyon surrounded by the cloud forest and stunning granite mountains.

Machupicchu Exploration

Before going to the ancient citadel, we will get lunch in the town. Afterwards, explore with your knowledgeable guide the Lost City of the Incas as you walk through temples, fountains, terraces and get connected by the spiritual energy of the place. At the end of the exploration, make your way back to the hotel.

Day 5: Machupicchu – Cusco

Create Your Own Spirit with Local Herbs

Today, we will take the train to go back to Ollantaytambo savoring incomparable views of the mountain scenery.

Local Distillery Visit

Have lunch in Ollantaytambo, then visit a local distillery, see the wooden shelves full of damajuanas (large glass bottles). Here the liquor is macerated with different local herbs mostly grown in the Albergue farm, we recommend to try their flagship Caña Alta.

Create Your Own Spirit

Finally, have a walk in the farm and prepare your own spirit with local organic herbs to take back home. We head to Cusco city to the hotel of your choice.

Day 6: Cusco

Visit the Oldest Local Market in Cusco. Discover Your Cooking Skills.

It is said that you don’t know a place if you don’t try its food. You don’t need to have experience, just the desire to learn and have a good time.

Market Visit & Cooking Class

In the morning, we head to the San Pedro Market where we will choose the ingredients needed for the elaboration of our food, then we go to the gastronomic center where our cooking classes begin, we will prepare an entrée, a main course, and our national drink, the Pisco Sour. For dessert you will taste a variety of native fruits.

Once fully satisfied, we return to our hotel. Free afternoon to stroll around the city of Cusco.

Day 7: Cusco

Explore the City of Cusco

The most cosmopolitan city in Peru that impresses every traveler. Well known as the Capital of the Incas that once was conquered and inhabited by important figures of the Spanish crown.

City Tour Highlights

Today, you will be part of the mixture of cultures walking through Cusco’s ornamental and carved balconies, cobblestone streets and well preserve Incan walls.

Archaeological & Cultural Sites

Visit Sacsayhuaman, a construction made with giant blocks of stone prodigiously fitted. Walk through the charming neighborhood of San Blas, known as the district of artisans, characterized by its narrow streets. On the way, you will see the famous stone of 12 angles which belongs to an old incan – palace.

Historical Center

Stroll through the Plaza de Armas and stop at the Cathedral of Cusco, which preserves the best expressions of colonial gold work and a precious collection of canvases of the Cusco School of Art.

Your tour guide will also will be able to suggest the best shops, restaurants, museums based on your personal interests.

Day 8: Cusco - International Flight

Flight Cusco – Lima. Flight Home Via Lima.

It’s time to say “Tupananchiskama! According to the Andean culture there is no such word as “Farewell”, instead we use this quechua expression, which means “until we meet again”.

At the coordinated time, you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to board your departure flight.
