This romantic adventure begins in the heart of the Andes, the city of Cusco. Considered the capital of the Inca Empire and Archaeological Capital of America. Cusco dazzles every visitor with its history, landscapes, traditions and monuments.

Today, we will tour the city with our specialized guide starting with Sacsaywaman, known for its colossal stones joined with mortar, was used as a ceremonial center 500 years ago. Then, we will walk through the bohemian neighborhood, San Blas, a place where you will find families dedicated to popular handicrafts, stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets until we arrive at the Main Square of Cusco, enter the Cathedral, it has canvases that belong to the Cusco School, works of art made of gold and silver.

Afterwards, we will visit an ancient colonial house where you will enjoy an exquisite lunch. Afternoon free to explore the city on your own, your guide will give you some suggestions according to your needs of museums, restaurants, shopping.

Enjoy Different Activities on the Water. Enjoy a Picnic. Participate in an Andean Ceremony.

Today cross the open fields heading to the beautiful and solitary lagoon of Piuray. Explore the area doing stand-up paddle or kayak, experience is not required due its tranquil aquamarine waters. You will be surrounded by few Andean communities; they still preserve their traditions.

Finish the activity with a floating picnic, perfect to share with your loved one. Once on land, connect with mother earth (Pachamama) and the Apus (mountains) through an Andean ceremony to renew vows, this ritual will be led by an Andean priest who will perform prayers, which will establish a spiritual link with nature through an offering called despacho. After the spiritual experience we return to the city of Cusco.

Visit the Inca Agricultural Laboratory and the Salt Mines. Sleep in a Luxury Glamping.

We continue our journey and head towards Moray, a natural depression that the Incas took advantage of to build concentric terraces, the layout of the terraces have created microclimates where they conducted experiments on seeds making it an advanced agricultural laboratory for its time. Afterwards, we continue to the salt mines of Maras, millenary salt mines, its pools are filled with salt water that comes out from the subsoil obtaining salt crystals by evaporation; this system is used by locals who take the final product to different types of markets.

It is time to enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by imposing mountains in a local farm. Then, we go to a community in the Andes where we will share with the local people their customs such as dyeing, weaving and spinning of alpaca fibers, vicuna, cotton using natural products such as rocks, flowers and roots. Sleep in a glamping that offers comfort and glamour with panoramic views of snow-capped mountains and fields.

Explore the Lost City of the Incas.

Be ready for this memorable experience! Board the train of your choice and be witness of the incredible scenery through the panoramic windows, after few minutes we dive into a canyon that takes us into the cloud forest and granite mountains. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes have an early lunch, then ascend to Machupicchu one of the 7 wonders of the modern world, considered a masterpiece of Inca engineering and architecture. Not only does it contribute to the cultural legacy, but it also has a natural beauty. With your private guide you will dive into the history that surrounds this magical place, walking through its terraces, squares and temples. At the end, we board the bus and go down to the hotel.

Climb Machupicchu or Huayna Picchu Mountain. Return to Cusco.

Today explore the citadel by a different way, climb up Huayna Picchu or Machupicchu mountain, both sites offer outstanding and fabulous views, it takes around 3 hours walking back and forth, please note that tickets to hike up will need to be purchased in advance. After your excursion, you will partake of a delicious lunch and later we head to the train station of Aguas Calientes to catch the train to go back to Ollantaytambo and be transferred to your hotel in Cusco.

Flight Cusco – Lima – Home
