ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival to Cusco - Sacred Valley

Welcome to Cusco – Visit the Amaru Community and the Archaeological Site of Pisaq

Welcome to the Capital of the Inca Empire, let’s start a new great adventure in the Andes mountains where the Incas once made incredible constructions.

Camelid Center & Community Visit

You are going to be welcomed by your private tour guide and take the way to the hotel which is located in the heart of the Sacred Valley. On route, get amazed by the spectacular panorama of the longest mountain range on the world and stop at Awanacancha an interpretation center of South American camelids like alpacas, llamas and vicuñas, these animals are valuable because of the fiber, local people use them to create beautiful handmade textiles. Continue to visit Amaru, an andean community that preserves ancestral knowledge and traditions, their economy is based on agriculture and animal rearing, they would love to share their knowledge.

Pisaq Archaeological Site

Visit Pisaq an archeological site where you will have an introduction about Inka culture and the complexity of their living system. Pisaq is one the most interesting and beautiful remains that is well preserved nowadays.

Day 2: Sacred Valley

Discover Moray and Maras by Bike

Today, we will spend the time outdoors riding mountain bikes in non-technical trails along the plateau of Chinchero surrounded by outstanding scenarios and snow-capped mountains.

Mountain Biking Adventure

The real Andes reveals itself when is done by bike, we will arrive to the terraces of Moray archeological site that’s served as a farming laboratory having variations of temperature in each terrace, it helped to provide different growing environments in a small area.

Maras Salt Pans

After lunch, we will pass through the town of Maras well known by its colonial blue color doorways. Then, we will get to the salt pans located in the hillside connected by an irrigation system that feed the pans with salty water.

Day 3: Sacred Valley

Visit Ollantaytambo – Prepare Your Own Spirit and Climb the Via Ferrata

Taking you through the fertile Sacred Valley, once the heartland of the Inca Empire, the tour starts visiting Ollantaytambo, ascend with your guide to this old fortress.

Ollantaytambo & Distillery Experience

This place was under construction and have never been completed, this site offers great views of the valley and the Urubamba river that meanders through it, you will have elaborate information about the history and theories behind the Inca civilization. Before having lunch, we will have the opportunity to visit the distillery project of a local friend where you will be able to create your own spirit using organic local herbs.

Hanging Capsule Experience

Have lunch, then few minutes later, get ready to climb to sleep in a hanging transparent luxury capsule, this is a real thousand-star hotel, this is a unique first class experience in the andes that you don’t want to miss, it allows you to enjoy the magnificent view of the Sacred valley. Experts will give you a safety talk and provide the equipment. The experience includes gourmet dinner with Peruvian wine and breakfast. Tuck yourself and have a pleasant night 400 meters (1,312 feet) from the ground.

Day 4: Sacred Valley

Release Adrenaline Doing Zip Line – Meet the Peruvian Paso Horse

Have a wake up call and enjoy the morning views around you. Have you ever had breakfast above 400 meters (1,312 feet) from the ground?

Zip Line Adventure

Delight yourself enjoying this beautiful time before you start going down the mountain through seven lines from 150mt to 700mt using the proper equipment for safety, once on the ground, we will take again the van and go for lunch.

Horseback Riding Experience

After having a chill time is time to see our four – legged friend Peruvian Paso Fino horse and have a trot through the country side of the sacred valley. It is time to say goodbye to our friends and head to our nice hotel.

Day 5: Sacred Valley - Hike to Machupicchu

Follow the Original Short Inca Trail to Machupicchu

Prepare to walk through the ancient non-discover trail by the Spaniards. This amazing experience will start when we will collect you from the hotel early in the morning and drive to the to Ollantaytambo to take the train to km 104.

Inca Trail Hike

At this point we will disembark the train and get ready to walk uphill path to Wiñaywayna remains. Here you will rest up and enjoy your fresh box lunch. Along the path you will be able to see different species of orchids and plants, on the other hand, don’t forget to appreciate the entire views.

Sun Gate & Machu Picchu Arrival

We will continue our hike for about two more hours on part of the Inka Trail and reach the Sun Gate. From this place you will have the first view of the incredible Machupicchu hidden between steep peaks below you. Let’s descend triumphantly over the ancient paving stones to the lost City of the Incas. After having a moment of contemplation the Stunning citadel, we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and check in into our hotel. Have a rest for a bit and enjoy a tasty well-earned dinner.

Day 6: Machupicchu – Cusco

Climb One of the Most Important Mountains of Machupicchu

Today, we will head back to the Citadel to have a better interpretation, walk through the mysterious alleys and stone-building. You will feel as though you’ve been transported into a work of art as you marvel the iconic Inca civilization.

Mountain Hike & Return Journey

You will also have the chance to hike to the top Huayna Picchu or Machupicchu, it takes around 3 hours walking back and forth, please note that tickets to hike up will need to be purchased in advance. After visiting the citadel, lets catch the afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo train station, where you will be dropped off at the hotel in Cusco.

Day 7: Cusco

Paddle or Kayak Above 11,000 ft

This astonishing journey is almost over and nothing better to have a pleasant day in the majestic Piuray lagoon, perhaps a little stand-up paddle or maybe a kayak ride?

Water Activities & Relaxation

Experience is not required due its tranquil aquamarine waters. You will be surrounded by few Andean communities; they still preserve their traditions. Return to the shore and have a tasty lunch based in local products.

Relax yourself before we take back route to Cusco City. Once you hace rested at your hotel, have time to walk around the beautiful historic center and soak up the local atmosphere.

Day 8: Cusco

Visit the City of Cusco, Full of History

The most cosmopolitan city in Peru that impresses every traveler. Well known as the Capital of the Incas that once was conquered and inhabited by important figure of the Spanish crown.

City Exploration

Today, you will be part of the mixture of cultures walking through Cusco’s ornamental and carved balconies, cobblestone streets and well preserve Incan walls. Visit Sacsayhuaman, a construction made with giant blocks of stone prodigiously fitted. Walk through the charming neighborhood of San Blas, known as the district of artisans, characterized by its narrow streets.

Cultural & Historical Sites

On the way, you will see the famous stone of 12 angles which belongs to an old incan – palace. Stroll through the Plaza de Armas and stop at the Cathedral of Cusco, which preserves the best expressions of colonial gold work and a precious collection of canvases of the Cusco School of Art. Mingle with locals in the emblematic San Pedro Market where you will learn about the products people use in the traditional cuisine.

Day 9: Cusco - International Flight

Flight Cusco – Lima. Flight Home Via Lima

It’s time to say “Tupananchiskama! According to the Andean culture there is no such word as “Farewell”, instead we use this quechua expression, which means “until we meet again”.

At the coordinated time, you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to board your departure flight.
